How I do Anything is How I do Everything – #2 of 50 Things That Help Me Heal (video)

You happen to be You no matter what you are doing. I think of that as the good news and the bad news .
You can literally look at anything you go through and see how you do things — how you cook a meal, the way you write a paper, how you exercise or how you don’t exercise.
BONUS EXERCISE: Pick an activity you do everyday like getting up in the morning and going into your day. List the steps you take and then list the repetitive ways you feel.
Do you grumble, do you sing, do you hold your breath? Do you do it the same everyday or is it different everyday? You could even start smaller. How do you brush your teeth?
Then think of the most recent conflict you experienced (even if you didn’t or haven’t addressed it yet) and list the steps you took then — Did you grumble? Did you sing?
Good luck — self growth is a beast!
I love you anyhow.
Concept passed to me from Robert M. Kest, Ph.D., while getting my BA in Health Arts & Sciences at Goddard College. Robert Kest has been a student of meditation for over forty years. He holds a doctorate in Psychology, his study focusing on the bio-psychological functions of character and its interrelationship with movement and meditative states. He was a student of Charlotte Selver’s for thirty years. For the last 40 years he has taught and consulted for universities, hospitals, “bodywork” schools, and spiritual communities throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia.
50 Things That Help Me Heal is a collection of 50 bite-sized, short vlogs to help you find healing in, and from, anything. Learn skills that can help get you back on track to heal a broken heart, apathy, loneliness, body aches and pains, lack of self purpose, or whatever you’ve got going on. Here’s a hint: NO FIXING — There’s nothing to fix.
Come with me on a journey to learn down to earth, reality based concepts to help you heal without having to be perfect or positive all the time. We often think of “healing” as some mysterious thing that can’t be explained, and although we can’t explain it per se, we can develop skills and practices that promote healing while restoring our joy, love, and faith.
