There are natural challenges, and concerns that arise when building and deepening community, and when initiating healing spaces. Come learn best practices for holding a safe space from spiritual, emotional, and deeply transforming work. Learn about maintaining a strong container for participants, and leave with a format you can use immediately to host a powerful circle that includes exercises for self-growth. Reiki is a simple, potent practice for self-care and helping others. This foundational course provides a set of key healing skills to last a lifetime. Open to anyone, regardless of experience, Yogis, seasoned bodyworkers, teachers, or newcomers to the healing arts will benefit. You can expect to go deep, gain a solid practice base, question your preconceived ideas, and walk away with an understanding of Reiki rooted in your own experience.
The course includes:
- Step-by-step instruction tailored to your needs and your learning style
- Hands-on practice on yourself and others
- Exploration of what Reiki is, what it isn’t, and how to practice
- History and origins of Reiki
- On-going group practice and discussion
- Clinical practice
- Ethics of practice
- Help and support incorporating Reiki into everyday life
- Access to teacher support
- Initiation into the practice (attunements)
- Reiki level I certification upon completion of the course
Learning happens best over time, with support and space to integrate the material. Spread out over 3 months of weekly classes, you’ll be able to learn at your own pace, practice at home, and ask questions based on your unfolding experiences.
With a minimum of 4 registered students, the course will be led by Kim Fleisher. For 8 or more registered students, the course will be led by Kim Fleisher and Sophia Wise One.
Kim Fleisher, M.Ed, RM:
Co-founder and former director of The Reiki School and Clinic in Philadelphia, Kim played a major role mainstreaming Reiki in the Philadelphia area. In practice for over 21 years, Kim has collaborated on research, academic medical programs, and community development of integrative healthcare programming for Reiki and massage. Known for her warm heart, direct teaching style, and ability to help students claim their own practice, classes with Kim are grounded in an intense love for learning.
